10:59 am - Federica
|
Federica is my intern for 3 months. And torturing cute interns for pictures is one of the great things about my job...
(BTW, check her work . She's so going to kick my ass in less than a year, and I'm going to make sure she does)

11:17 pm - Elena
|
when I take pictures of someone I always crush a little bit. Sometimes I crush a lot. Elena is one of those women you'd expect in a noir movie of some kind. She has sharp features and she's got a brain that matches them. Flawless skin (the raw files look photoshopped) and amazing graceful body. She's an amazing professional and didn't even blink when we started pouring flour over her. There are days when I simply LOVE my job.

12:37 pm - shameless self promotion
|
if you click on the image you'll be redirected to the blurb page where you can vote for the honeymoonroadtripextravaganza book we made. if we'll ever win the money we plan to spend it on nasty, useless stupid stuff (or on another trip to the US, how cool would that be?) So vote: it's free, doesn't really take too much time, you can also vote on the books you actually DO like and baby Jesus will remember your good deeds

2:58 pm - Thor and Megan
|
I found Thor and Megan in a parking lot on a superhot sunday, this august. They were scared, hungry and thirsty. I took them home with me and then to the vet and then contacted the aae to find them a new home. In a couple of hours I'll take them to their new family. I'm super sad, but I know it's what's best for them, since winter is coming and I wouldn't be able to keep them inside the apartment if it gets too cold. But I've never meet sweeter rabbits, and I will miss them like hell. Photos from the NY trip coming, I just have to find the time to edit them

And so my obsession with burying my friends is still alive and kicking. It's the toll they pay for food and shelter when they come to visit me. Veronica has been gone for a day and I miss her already. And not just because she's stunning and immensely photogenic.
( But yeah, she is. )

12:04 pm - I scream for Ice Cream
|

One of the things I love about summer is the sight of giant plastic ice-cream cones at the side of ice cream shops. So Endi and I took advantage of a lazy afternoon while Ale was working and went cone-hunting.

2:57 pm - blurb is TEH FUN
|
Blurb is sooo much better than lulu when it comes to printing pictures. Better paper, better quality, better service. And since some time ago many of you asked if it would have been possible to buy the motel project pictures and I wasn't going to sell prints (still not doing it, at the moment), you might want to check HERE

11:26 am - Paying it forward
|
I am usually very much not into this sort of things, but it's a weird period and I need a break from the usual routine. A couple of days ago, I signed up for a little "Pay it Forward" fun at Anna's blog. So now it's my turn. Here's the deal:
I am entering into the following contract with the first 5 people who comment on this post and then commit to do the same on their blog. Just read below and if you feel up to the task copy the following into your blog and leave me a comment. I am willing to post overseas.
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. Whatcha get is whatcha get. 2. What I create will be just for you, with love. 3. It’ll be done this year (2009). 4. I will not give you any clue what it’s going to be. It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber. It may be weird or beautiful. Or it may be monstrous and annoying. (unlikely!) Who knows? Not you, that’s for sure! 5. I reserve the right to do something strange. 6. In return, all you need to do is post this text on your blog and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to your blog post. 7. Send your mailing address - after I contact you.
Welcome to everyone. I will however, make an effort to do something that you like based on what I see on your blog.
Come on, don't be shy. Even if you don't think you're the creative type, you might end up surprising yourself - and making 5 other people very happy too!
So there you go, be the first 5 to leave a comment and be a part of it! Please leave your email address as well so I can contact you :)

9:14 am - Chronicles from Lameland
|
so. my weekend was actually pretty busy: on friday night there was a lovely dinner with friends I hadn't seen for a while. On saturday I was here. LOVED flogging Molly & Gogol Bordello, I can't report about the Pogues, since I ended up in the emergency room after falling (not very gracefully, I must admit) on one of my ankles. It started hurting like hell and when I tried to get up after a while I found out (surprise!) that it actually hurt more and couldn't walk nor jump on the other foot.
Husband proved himself an hell of a hero by actually carrying me all the way out (at that point I decided it was a great idea to faint) and then to the emergency room when I had x-ray test and found out that foot was not broken, I just had a dislocated ankle and a twisted ligament.
For the next 10 to 15 days I'll be hopping around in crutches, which I'm totally terrible at. And then I'm ready for the NIN concert. Let's see if next time I manage to actually break something...
(At the moment I'm stuck at home with two cuban women cleaning the house. And I'm scared of cleaning ladies. Scared to bits)

2:01 am - Magpies | study.
|

last entry for tonight, I promise. Sorry for flooding, but I don't know how often I'll be on the internet in the next few days.
Not giving much of an explanation for this image. Is part of a bigger work that should be finished by the end of semptember. I'm only writing it down to kick my own ass. I need to find the time to work on this FOR REAL.
To bed, now. The internet is way too slow tonight, and so am I.

1:58 am - Endi | wrapped
|

I buried him. Drowned him. Painted him. Is this enough? Of course not. If you accept to be my ghost assistant, this is what you get. Lucky, huh? This picture is quite a ripoff of mr McKean's work, I reckon. I was unaware of that until the very moment I saw the finished shot and I though "oh well. Not THAT's quite unoriginal, isn't it?". But I still like it though, so consider it some kind of excercise in flattery

1:40 am - Pacina
|

Am I still burying people in random stuff? Well, you can bet your best knickers I am! Meet pacina, who is the marshmellow of human kind. Sweet, delicious and colorful. We got the shot in less than 10 frames. So we had to fill the rest of the afternoon, somehow.

11:39 pm - Canon 5D MArk III | part 2

Canon 5D Mark II | still screwing around from bruko on Vimeo.
and after the lunch break video, comes the dinner break video. I needed to test the camera in low light conditions. Hell yeah. I was working in low light/no light conditions and nothing you see is edited (as I don't know how to do it. I just started using imovie and even that seems incredibly complicated)
I'm uploading the hi-res file here, you need to see this big.
